The Children's Emergency Overnight Housing Space is a fully functioning home environment within the Growing Up Greene offices.  Until the launch of this program, children who were removed from their homes of origin, but who did not yet have placement options, were temporarily sheltered at the CYS offices or in local hotels.  Neither of these choices afforded children the distractions or comforts of a real home, and the stress of removal was amplified.

Growing Up Greene secured grant funding to create an apartment within our office space, including a living room and library, a bedroom capable of sleeping six siblings, kitchenette, bathroom with a standing shower, and a conference room for movie watching and dining.  Children can avail themselves of any or all of these areas, while being supervised by their CYS guardians.  The Emergency Overnight Housing Space has been used on multiple occasions since its launch.
